He is an academic environmental ethicist, herpetologist, naturalist, and the 2025 Aldo and Estelle Leopold Writing Fellow.
He received my Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Utah (2023) and my M.A. in philosophy from Western Michigan University (2018). His work focused on the history and philosophy of conservation science and ecology. He was a postdoctoral researcher at UC San Diego’s Institute for Practical Ethics (2023-2025), and he is currently a research affiliate at the same institution.
He has over ten peer-reviewed academic publications, including in philosophy, conservation science, and herpetology journals. He has given over a dozen academic talks at prestigious conferences around the world, including the Philosophy of Science Association (2022 and 2024).
